These abandoned wells contribute to 20-30% of methane leaks in the US, which affect drinking water, harm wildlife, ruin the land, and create flooding risks, according to experts. Curtis Shuck, Chairman of the Well Done Foundation, is doing something about this. WDF is the only national nonprofit working to plug millions of orphaned oil and gas wells across the U.S.
