About Me
My name is Eugene Bible. I’m a Hawaii-based sustainability nerd and engineer who bikes to work, picks up trash every day, and tries to get other people to join me in my mission to tackle climate change while staying positive, hopeful, and respectful towards our fellow people, animals, and the environment. In other words, to live Environmentally COnscious, or what I call to Live ECO (I like to pronounce it like “echo”).
I’m a graduate of mechanical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), but after graduating, I wanted experience living abroad so I moved to Korea for 2.5 years and Japan for 7, where I met my wife and daughter, and taught English to children for work. During the pandemic, really worried about the climate crisis, I decided to try to influence people to be better: to care for the environment through positive interactions and feelings: not cold science or doom and gloom.
I love nature and the environment, and I’m pretty sure you do too! Honestly, who doesn’t? Maybe you don’t love nature in the same way I do, but I’ve never heard of anyone who doesn’t love swimming in the ocean, or hiking through forests, or seeing vast snow-capped mountain ranges.
As I’ve started this journey of trying to live in a way that is more environmentally friendly, I’ve realized that doing so feels good! Everything I’ve done to make my life more in balance with the environment has (although feeling like a bit of a challenge at first) made me feel like I’m living a better life that is healthier, happier, and more in-line with my own values. And I want YOU to feel that way too! I want to influence and show people that you don’t need to be a perfect vegan, raw-diet, only-hemp-wearing, off-grid minimalist in order to be environmentally friendly! Literally ANYONE can do it.
Yes. Even you.
I promise.
It starts with you paying attention to everything in the environment around you (i.e. the people, nature, animals), and specifically how you’re connected to them.
SO! Let’s get started! It’s time to transition to a life that is happier and more fulfilling. It’s time to Live ECO.
