Verdant Growth is Growing
Planting Deeper Roots
Verdant Growth started as a small experiment. A place for me to ruminate on sustainability, and it led me to thinking a lot about the gap between how we've normalized harming others, and how better living actually feels. I didn't know if anyone would care, but some of you do — and that's enough to build on. This isn't just about content. It's about building a community of people living differently, on purpose.
This year, I'm getting serious (well...More serious, anyway). Not in the hustle, grind-until-you-break sense, but in the sense of showing up more consistently, building more structure, and creating more space for me to help people, create community, and create a sense of us building something together.
Here's what that looks like.
A Steady Rhythm
Starting now, you can expect new content on a reliable schedule. Blog posts will continue to show up on my blog (VerdantGrowth.blog), but now I'm also putting them up on Substack. These blog posts will go out every two weeks, alternating with episodes of Solve For Nature — so there's always something new, but hopefully never so much that it becomes noise. The goal is a cadence you can actually look forward to, not one that meaninglessly floods your inbox.
I know I've been inconsistent in the past, and I think I will still struggle sometimes to be consistent, but I'm dedicated to creating a place that feels more like sanctuary: stable, steady, and meaningful.
Where to Find Everything
A quick map, because the VG ecosystem is expanding:
My blog will still be the main place to find everything Verdant Growth. This is where you can find info about me and what I'm working on: projects, blogs, podcasts, and more.
Substack will be the primary home for writing — and likely for podcast episodes too, so you can read or listen from your inbox without hunting anything down. Think of it like my blog, but scaled back to just the content.
Patreon is something new. I'd like to make this the inner circle — a private community for people who want to go deeper. It's early in development, but I hope to grow it into things like early access, behind-the-scenes process, the drafts and dead ends and half-formed ideas that don't make it into the polished posts. I also plan to start doing some Patreon-only video content (Q&As? AMAs? Personal opinions on the news of the day? Open to suggestions here!) Eventually I'd like to use it to begin group donations to causes I recommend supporting. If that sounds like your kind of thing, it might be worth pulling up a chair.
YouTube is coming back. For a start, we're going to get all the podcast episodes up there — but if there's growth, I may go back to producing video content too. I miss making videos. There's something about video that writing can't quite do, and I'm ready to find out what modern Verdant Growth looks like on camera.
The Shared Table
Every month, I host a small gathering called The Shared Table. It's exactly what it sounds like: a virtual shared table where people sit and chat over a meal! The topic of conversation varies every month, but my goal is to create a space where we have the hard conversations surrounding sustainability and other things that really matter — happiness, health, connection, meaning, the friction between the life we have and the one we want, and more!
No agenda. No performance. Just people trying to figure it out, together.
These happen the first Sunday of every month. Bring a meal, come as you are, and join some like-minded people. There's a dedicated page on my blog that you can check up on to find details on how to join!

Something Else Is Coming
I've been sitting with an idea for a while now. A more intentional, more personal offering — something for people who feel like they're doing everything right on paper and still sensing that something's missing. People who are tired of optimizing and ready to actually feel good.
It's built around three things I keep coming back to, in my own life and in every conversation worth having: happiness, health, and connection. And it's going to mean connecting with some of you personally.
I'm not ready to say much more than that yet. But if you're the kind of person who wants to stop drifting and start feeling — rooted in where you are, rising toward what's possible — keep an eye out. More soon.
The Invitation
Here's the short version: I'm building something I believe in, and I'd like you to be part of it.
Subscribe on Substack if you aren't already. Join the Patreon if you want to go deeper. Come to The Shared Table if you want to be in the room. And if something about that last section resonated — hold onto that feeling.
This is what Verdant Growth is becoming: not just a blog, but a community of people choosing to live differently. I'm glad you're here.
